of Technology, Lagos, Nigeria. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and
the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Management, Internal Audit, Control Management and consulting for both indigenous and
multinational companies in the private and public sectors of the Nigeria economy.
He holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Taxation & Fiscal Policy at the University of Pretoria, South
Africa; Master of Business Administration (MBA), Paris Graduate School of Management with bias for
International Business, and a graduate of Accounting & Finance from Yaba College of Technology,
Lagos-Nigeria. He also holds professional certifications as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of Nigeria (ICAN); Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN); Associate of the Nigeria
Institute of Management (NIM) Chartered; Certified Financial Modeller (CFM); professional membership of
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and a Certificate of the Associate of Chartered Certified
Accountants in International Financial Reporting Standards (ACCA-CIFRSs). In addition, a student member

Until 13 January 2020, Gbenga was the Head of Tax for Cadbury where my role entails managing the tax affairs
of the company in West Africa and Kenya. Also, He was formerly Project Manager of the Integrated Tax
Administration System (ITAS), at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), which was an outcome of the
IMF-TADAT mission to enable successful closure and implementation of the ITAS project. He was previously
Head, Business Analysis and Assurance Unit, FIRS, where he had the responsibility of providing
technical expertise, drive compliance and manage numerous technology initiatives to promote financial
inclusion to increase the ‘FIRS tax revenue take’. He was seconded as Tax Resource Expert to the Federal
Ministry of Finance on Voluntary Assets and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS) where he provided
supervisory support for the development of multi-agency system on business intelligence for revenue agencies
to enhance tax revenue assurance on VAIDS. He also helped develop strategies for achieving the projected
revenue of $1 Billion and coordinated activities relating to tax operations on VAIDS.
He has worked in top managerial positions of leading telecommunication, and Oil & gas sectors and
have been privileged to attend a number of developmental trainings in the areas of Risk & compliance
management, Corporate governance & leadership, Public sector accounting & strategy, International
tax & fiscal policy, Performance management, People management, Problem solving skills and
Emotional intelligence. He has made several presentations at seminars and workshops and have
delivered speeches at academic, social and religious programmes. He has also been a resource person at
the FIRS training school, teaching Value Added Tax to FIRS staff aspiring to managerial roles.

is a graduate of Accountancy from the Yaba College of Technology. A Fellow Member
of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (1992); Chartered Institute of Management of Nigeria (2003);
a qualified member of the Abuja Securities & Commodities Exchange and a member of the Institute of Chartered
Secretaries and Administrators (1993). Associates Member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (2011).
Prior to joining ICML in 2002, he has worked with several organizations spanning various sectors of the
economy. Such organizations include Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Adekunle Alli & Co (Accounting
Firm), Financial Spectrum Limited, Investment and Allied Company Limited (Finance Controller) and
International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (on AFDB Fund -Consultant Accountant). He was a part-time
lecturer with Yaba College of Technology, Yaba and Dynamic Tutors (ICSA Lectures).
At ICML, he held various positions in different groups from service to marketing. He developed accounting
systems used in some of the organization. He headed the committee that saw to the successful conversion and
transition from KAPITI Software to the current software (Flexcube) currently being used by ICML. He has over
17years cognate experience. He has attended several courses locally and abroad, among which are Back Office
Management (Euromoney, South Africa); IT Audit and Control (LBS, Lagos); The Leadership Challenge with
Positive Image of London; Advance Leasing Course (ELAN) and Certification in IFRS Application- MODULE I
& II(ICAN) and I was part of the team that commenced the implementation of transforming the accounting
system of Access Bank Plc and the subsidiaries to IFRS compliance level. Developed the Accounting Reporting
System for Africa Development Bank Fund to IITA Group.
He won numerous awards at academic and professional levels e.g. ICAN and another in ICML as the Most
Outstanding Staff in Year 2006 (Service), aside other commendations.
